Which cuts can be public
Only a cut for an audience outside the company, whose rules allow it, that passed its check, can be opened by anyone.
A film or deck can be published at a link. Most links are for your organisation only: people must sign in to open them. A link anyone can open is allowed only for a cut that meets all three of these:
- It was made for an audience outside the company.
- That audience's rules say it can be opened by anyone.
- It passed its check, run again by the Showreel Studio service against your organisation's rules.
The service refuses a public link for anything else. A cut sent without the text its screens showed cannot be public either.
Which of the starting audiences can be public
Sales, Customers · help centre and Socials can. Internal · technical and Internal · stakeholders cannot. Your organisation's rules may differ: see Set your organisation's audience rules.
Who can publish for anyone
Only an owner or admin can publish a cut at a public link.
Publish a cut for anyone
In the app
- Build the cut for the audience and make sure it passed: see Make a cut for an audience.
- On the film's Audiences panel, click Publish for anyone under that cut. The button only appears when the cut may be public and has passed.
- Confirm. The cut is shared to the web app and published at a link anyone can open.
In the terminal
Share the Sales cut and publish it for anyone:
showreel share compose --for sales --publish public
In the web app
On the shared cut's Film tab, the Publish card offers Anyone with the link only for a cut that qualifies. For any other it is greyed out, marked as needing a cut for an outside audience.
One link per audience
A film or deck has a separate link for each audience, so the sales cut and the internal cut never share one. See Publish a film at a link.
