Open the web app from your Mac
Go from the local app to the web app already signed in, with a one-time code.
The local app can open the web app signed in as the same account, so you do not have to sign in again in the browser.
Steps
- In the local app, press the cloud icon at the foot of the rail. Or, on Overview, press Open the web app in the Account card.
- The web app opens in a new browser tab, signed in.
How it works
Your Mac asks the service for a one-time code. The code works once, for one minute, and the browser trades it for a web app session. Your account's sign-in never appears in a web address.
If the code cannot be made, or has run out, the web app opens as usual and asks you to sign in if you are not already.
Signed in as someone else
If the browser is already signed in to the web app as a different account, it asks Switch account? first. Choose Switch to the Mac's account, or Stay as the one you are signed in as. A link nobody asked for cannot quietly change the account you are working in.
From the terminal
This prints the web app's address and opens it, where you sign in as usual:
