Showreel Studio does not watch what you do. Here is what your Mac tells the service, and why.
What the service learns
- Who you are, once a day. Each machine checks your sign-in and your organisation's licence once a day, and keeps the answer.
- The work you ask it to do. Writing, voicing, rendering titles and decks, fetching the rules a Claude Code skill follows, sharing and cloud recording all happen on the service. Each call is counted, with its kind, when, who, and details such as the film's name, the voice used or how many characters were read. You can see these counts. See Your usage.
- When you were last here, updated at most once an hour.
- Freshness results, when you run
showreel freshsigned in: which films were checked and which lines changed.
What stays on your Mac
Your Mac keeps a count of how many times each command has run, in ~/.showreel/usage.json. The count stays on your Mac.
What is never collected
No film content, storyboards or footage are collected for reporting. Films and footage reach the service only when you share a film or record it in the cloud, and then they belong to your organisation. Words pass through the service when it writes or voices them for you, and are not kept. See What is kept where.
