What concept films are
Films and decks of a feature that is not built yet, made from a copy of your real app so they look exactly like it.
A concept film shows a feature before anyone writes the real code, so you can get it approved first. It starts from a prototype: a copy of your app's own screens that Claude extends from a short brief.
How it works
- Showreel Studio opens your real app, follows a path to each screen you name, and saves a static copy of it: its markup, styles, fonts and images. Scripts are left out.
- Each copy is compared with the real screen, so you can see how faithful it is.
- The copies become one clickable site, where the app's own navigation works between screens.
- In Claude Code, Claude adds the new feature to that site from your brief.
- You film the prototype and make a deck from it, like any app.
Because the prototype is built from your app's real screens, the film looks like your product, not a mock-up.
Starting without an app
For a new product with no app yet, a prototype can start from a plain app shell in a kit's look instead of from captured screens.
Marked as a concept
Everything made from a prototype says Concept by default, so nobody mistakes it for a shipped feature. See The Concept mark.
Masking
Masking applies to captures, so a prototype built from a real app's screens carries stand-ins, not real names, emails or figures.
