What a brand kit is
The one folder that decides how your films and decks look and sound, and where kits come from.
A brand kit is a folder of settings and files that decides how everything you make looks and sounds. Every film and deck is made in one kit, so changing the kit changes the brand without changing the film.
What a kit holds
| Part | What it decides |
|---|---|
| Colours | The text, background, masthead bar and two accent colours. |
| Type | The typefaces, from Google Fonts or the kit's own font files. |
| Logo and masthead | The logo, and the shape of the bar the opening titles fold into. |
| Bumper | The open and close of a film: the eyebrow above the title, the title size and the style (aurora or slate). |
| Voice | The voice-over's engine, voice, direction and pace. |
| Motion and cuts | The cursor, typing speed, dissolves and the longest silence allowed. |
| Captions | Whether captions are on, and how they look. |
| Outputs | Extra shapes to cut (square, vertical, portrait) and GIF size. |
| Deck | The fonts and colours of slide decks. |
Where kits come from
Showreel Studio looks for a kit in three places, in this order:
- Your project's own kits, in the project's
kits/folder. You can change these. - Your organisation's kits, shared by an owner or admin so every project and machine uses the same brand. See Share a kit with your organisation.
- The kits Showreel Studio provides:
showreel(the product's own look),northlightandmeridian. These are read-only; duplicate one to change it.
The Kits page of the local app shows every kit you can use, with a chip saying where it comes from: this project, your organisation or package.
